The Role:

As a Solution Engineer, you will be joining the Connected Health team at Irdeto as a technical expert in the field of medical device cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will be comfortable talking to customers, have experience with cybersecurity in medical devices, and have a broad range of knowledge about US and European cybersecurity regulations for medical devices.

 

Your mission at Irdeto:

  • Working closely with sales and product management to take product requirements and translate them into engineering specifications.
  • Working with product management to evaluate Irdeto’s broader portfolio of technologies to identify solutions that can be adapted to the healthcare industry.
  • Determining roadmap priorities and make architecture decisions alongside with product management and engineering .
  • Providing analysis of competitor offerings to ensure Irdeto’s solutions are technically competitive.
  • Working with product and quality management to ensure product documentation and internal trainings are accurate and up to date.
  • Reviewing product collateral, marketing content and external product documentation alongside with product management and sales. 
  • Supporting the sales team by traveling to conferences, trade shows and customers meetings (no more than 20% travel)
  • Providing thought leadership through speaking at industry events and contributing to Irdeto thought leadership blogs.
  • Supporting the security services team by ensuring Threat Modeling and Pentesting activities meet regulatory requirements.

 

How can you add value to the team

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information systems is required. (An advanced degree is preferred).
  • 5+ years combined experience working in a product cyber security/ software design/ embedded software engineering role. 
  • Prior experience at a Medical Device Manufacturer in product development or product security.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with embedded systems hardware and software development, preferably in the MedTech Industry.
  • Strong, demonstrable systems architecture experience
  • Knowledge of AAMI, ISO/IEC, NIST, EU MDR/MDCG standards and requirements.
  • Knowledge of System and Software Development Processes and Lifecycles for new product development
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Experience with risk management methodologies, design control, threat modeling, vulnerability ranking, and product enhancements
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and streamlining quality system procedure definition to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Experience in supporting compliance requirements and knowledge of global regulatory requirements for cybersecurity
